GUESTS

You are allowed to bring one guest. Guests must be age 21 or older with a valid passport to travel. Your room is double occupancy only.

CURRENCY

The currency used in Lisbon is the Euro. Credit cards are widely accepted in major stores, museums and large restaurants - Visa and Mastercard are more common than American Express. We recommend bringing small bills before leaving the United States. Don’t forget to tell your bank you will be traveling to Portugal – they may block your card if you don’t. If you do bring US Dollars into Lisbon, then you’ll need to find a reputable currency exchange when you land. It’s generally not recommended to do this – there will be poor exchange rates. It’s best to exchange your money before you arrive if needed. Click HERE to compare the exchange between your currency and the Euro in real time.

PASSPORT/TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
Passports are required for all travelers to Portugal. Passports must be valid until September 25, 2026, or 6 months after your return travel date. It is highly recommended that you make a color copy of your passport and keep it in your carry-on luggage. During your stay, there will be a safe located in your guestroom where you may keep it upon arrival. This will assist the consulate in expediting your return home in case of a lost passport. If you need to renew your passport, please do so immediately. Check with your official government website for instructions on renewal.

Some countries will require a visa to enter Portugal. Please refer to this link to check your visa requirements for entry into Portugal: https://www.lisbon.net/travel-advice â€‹

WHAT IS ETIAS AND WILL IT IMPACT OUR TRIP?
ETIAS is a travel authorization required for visa-exempt nationals visiting certain European countries. With a valid ETIAS, you can enter these countries multiple times for short-term stays - typically up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

No, the ETIAS is schedule to go into effect the last quarter of 2026 and should not affect the Lisbon program. Please click the link for additional information: https://travel-europe.europa.eu/en/etias
